Ghanaian trader, Constance Gyasi Nimako alias Maa Adwoa has been remanded into lawful custody for allegedly stealing GH¢800,000 that was mistakenly credited to her Ecobank account.
The money was meant for a businessman, but due to a silly error, it landed in Nimako’s account, and instead of returning it, she went on a spending spree, transferring GHC¢300,000 to her mum’s account and GH¢400,000 to her own account, and withdrawing GH¢70,500 in cash.
When questioned by the police, Nimako claimed a foreign company had sent her the money to buy goods. However, investigations revealed no such company existed. It seems Nimako was just trying to cover her tracks.
Nimako’s mum, Cecilia Gyasi who received GHC¢300,000 from the alleged stolen cash has been granted bail, but Nimako was remanded due to the seriousness of the offense. The court fears she might skip trial.
The case has been adjourned to July 7, 2025. Will Nimako face the music for her alleged greed? Stay with Kasatintin News for updates on this juicy scandal!
