Research group, Global InfoAnalytics’ latest polls released in April 2025 show that majority of young voters (18-45years) find the National Democratic Congress (NDC) more attractive than the New Patriotic Party(NPP).
The NPP used to have a majority support base from this age range.
Global InfoAnalytics say ‘the April 2025 tracking poll must be a worry for the main opposition party, the New Patriotic Party as the polling data suggests young voters drifting away to the align with the NDC. The poll also shows that the NDC now dominates all age groups’.
It stressed that ‘75% of the respondents were under the age of 45. A development that will certainly impact on who leads the two main parties in the future’.
On the level of appeal of both the NDC and NPP to intellectuals, the polls found that ‘the NDC now dominates among voters with all levels of educational qualification…that NPP continue to lose grounds among voters with tertiary level qualifications, a development which emerged during the last six months of the 2024 campaign and continues after the elections’.
