Sad Video—One Student Shot Dead As Armed Robbers Attack University Students Returning From A Field Trip In Sunyani

About 80 students of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) including their lecturers have been attacked by armed robbers.

The robbery incident occurred on the Odumase-Badu road near Sunyani in the Bono East Region, at about 7.00pm on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, local media said.

The victims, mainly from the renewable energy engineering department of UENR were robbed off their mobile phones, laptops and cash during their return from a field trip to the Bui Power Authority.

It is alleged that some of the students faced sexual and physical assault.

‘Tragically, one student [Abdul Aziz Isaiah, alias Zamani] lost his life as a result of the incident’, University Management confirmed in a press statement.
