A swarm of bees on Wednesday invaded an ongoing ceremony in Koforidua and attacked the dignitaries who had assembled to commission a project to begin the renovation work on the Asokore Community Centre.
The bees stormed the event grounds in their hundreds making the attendees to run for their lives.
The Member of Parliament for New Juaben North, Nana Adjei Boateng (also a Deputy Local Government Minister) , the Municipal Chief Executive, Comfort Asante, Chiefs, and community members in attendance literally run a 500 metre race as the bees chased them out with their last breathe.
The MP and MCE were the first to take to their heels but it is unknown which of them got to their private vehicles first.
Following the startling incident, four persons suffered multiple bee stings ; they have since been on admission at the St. Joseph Hospital in Koforidua.
