International broadcaster BBC is set to air part two of their ‘explosive’ interview with Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo.

It will be recalled that President Akufo-Addo answered tough questions on the state of Ghana’s economy, taxation, sports, insecurity within the ECOWAS sub-region among others during a chat with Peter Okwoche on the Focus on Africa programme on Monday.

Excerpts of the heated interview have gone viral and widely discussed on mainstream media.

A section of the public have been critical of the President particularly with his statement on why the 1.5% tax has been slapped on elecronic transactions including mobile money transfers.

He told Peter Okwoche that the government was taxing an industry not the poor contrary to the reality on the ground.

Investigative journalist Manasseh Azure said the BBC interview has exposed President Akufo-Addo who has avoided critical media outlets back home.

‘You can evade all the critical media here, but if your fundamentals are weak, the foreign media will still expose you’, Manasseh wrote in a recent social media post.

But others maintain President Akufo-Addo was pretty on top of the issues discussed on the BBC network.

Some social media users have commented on Mr Okwoche’s post. Read some of the fascinating comments belows:

‘So you’re giving us episodes to insult our president, not again’.

‘Tell the world what the wicked people of Nigeria did to our supporters and players in Abuja for the 2nd leg or the world cup qualifies.

‘You proved the sort of journalist you are.most of our media guys in Ghana don’t have the ball to ask such questions.our president have been a huge disappointment..Ghana is now a really hard place to stay.Price of goods and service so high,

‘@okwoche , please we’ll send his(@NAkufoAddo) favorite journalist(Kwame Safe Kayi and Paul Adom-Otchere) from Ghana 🇬🇭 that will not ask him provocative questions please. He’s been treated like a dada ba(children from a rich home) so he’s not use to provocative questions

‘If it’s not too late, please ask him,why he rents private jet of 18k$ an hour in this hard times when his people are struggling to buy fuel and even pay their rents. We have affordable houses in Ghana rotting away, but cus of pettiness he won’t open it to the public to rent’.
