The case involving Richard Appiah, 28 standing trial for the alleged killing of two boys has been adjourned to October 5, 2021.
This was after the prosecution team indicated in court that the post-mortem report on the remains was not ready.
Richard Appiah made his second appearance in court on Wednesday.
According to a report on CitiNewsroom sighted by Kasatintin.com, the prosecutor who ‘asked for an adjournment of the case, explained that an autopsy on the two boys had been done and a full report from the medical officer will be made available in the next few days’.
The adjournment will also ‘enable the police to compile a complete report on the matter and forward the duplicate docket to the Attorney-General’s Department for advice’, state-owned newspaper, Ghanaian Times added.
Richard Appiah has been accused of killing his stepbrother and another child, aged 12 and 15 respectively in his living quarters at Alaska, near Abesim, in the Sunyani Municipality in the Bono Region.
Police investigators stormed Appiah’s home on August 20, 2021 and found pieces of fresh human body parts stored in a fridge.
The intestines of one of the teenaged victims buried in a cocoa farm at Abesim was exhumed and taken to the lab for forensic examination.
Two cutlasses with bloodstains were also retrieved from the same scene.
