Former Norwich City and Brighton and Hove Albion manager, Chris Hughton has arrived in Ghana hoping to take over the vacant Black Stars coaching job.
Hughton, 63 is coming in just days after the Ghana FA sacked Milovan Rajevac over his poor performance at the 2021 AFCON.
According to reports, a high ranking member of the government is pushing for the appointment of the Irish trainer as the next head coach of the senior national team
Chris Hughton is of Ghanaian descent through his father, Willie Hughton, and speaks the Ga dialect.
The GFA and the Sports Ministry are likely to confirm his appointment by Sunday, February 6, 2022.
Other contenders for the Black Stars coaching job are Borussia Dortmund assistant coach Otto Addo, Aston Villa youth coach George Boateng and former Cameroon assistant coach Ibrahim Tanko.
