A Nigerian pastor in the UK has reportedly been sacked from his church role for failing to meet offering and tithing targets, sparking controversy online.
Wife of the pastor shared her husband’s experience, saying:
‘My husband is a pastor in the UK who was sacked because he couldn’t meet up with offering target. We have been in the UK for four years now. My husband is a pastor here, but he also has a side job like a regular job… To the point that they fired my husband here in the UK. Not like they are paying him one important salary. Yet, they have to sack him. As I speak to you now, my husband does not even go to church anymore’.
She expressed surprise that churches in the UK also have offering targets, having previously heard about such practices online.
She revealed that her husband had consistently used his personal money to meet the targets.
