The one‑week observance for Daddy Lumba is slated for August 30, 2025 in Accra.
The announcement was made by his family on the late singer’s radio station, DL FM. However, the final funeral rites will take place in Kumasi on a yet to be confirmed date.
Daddy Lumba, born Charles Kwadwo Fosu, died at age 60 on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at the Bank Hospital in Accra after a short illness.
On Saturday, August 2, 2025, the Creative Arts Agency and the Fosu family organised a national candlelight vigil in Accra at the Independence Square in honour of Lumba. A similar event was held in Koforidua, organised by the De-Ofosu Plaza Hotel and De-Ofosu Events Centre. Watch the video below.
