Ghana’s music sensation Samini abruptly ended his performance at the 29th Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards ceremony over a poorly managed technical problem.
Samini was the headline artiste for the GJA Awards held at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
The veteran Raggae/dancehall artiste took to the stage to entertain the esteemed gathering, which included President John Dramani Mahama and Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
As he began to perform, Samini realised that the monitors were not working, affecting his vocals.
The audience’s anticipation turned to disappointment as Samini refused to continue performing until the issue was resolved.
‘Fix proper sound’, Samini urged the technicians, before walking off stage. He however apologised to the dignitaries present for the inconvenience caused.
The incident has sparked reactions from fans and attendees alike, with some praising Samini for prioritising sound quality, while others have slammed him for being unprofessional.
