Baltasar Engonga has been sentenced to eight years in prison and a fine worth $220,000.
Engonga, who once hedaded Equitorial Guinea’s National Financial Investigation Agency was accused of diverting hundreds of thousands of dollars in travel expenses for personal use. Five other senior officials were implicated in the case.
A provincial court passed the judgement on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.
In 2024, Engonga was caught in several leaked sex tapes featuring him and wives of other officials. He is alleged to have done the filming in his own office at the finance ministry. (Watch Engonga’s leaked video below).
