The funeral arrangements for the late former First Lady of Ghana, Theresa Kufuor have been announced by the family.
Mrs. Kufuor passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at 87 and she was the wife of ex-president John Agyekum Kufuor.
Kufuor at the age of 23 married Theresa in 1962 after they met at a Republic Day Anniversary Dance in London in 1961.
They were blessed with five children: John Addo Kufuor, Anne-Marie Kufuor (Nana Ama Gyamfi),Helen Kufuor (Nana Saah), Edward Kufuor (Agyekum) and Victor Owusu Afriyie Kufuor(Kofi). She survived by eight grandchildren and a sibling Esther Mensah.
Mrs Kufuor would be given a state burial starting with a requiem mass for her on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at the Christ the King Catholic Church, Cantonments, Accra at 6:00pm.
State funeral follows at the Forecourt of the State House on Thursday, November 16, 2023.
Filing past and viewing of the body will be done between 7:00am to 8:45am, while burial mass will be between 9:00am to 11:00am.
The family has further announced that, the final funeral rites of Mrs Kufuor will be held at the Heroes Park in Kumasi on Saturday, November 18,2023 followed by a private burial.
Memorial thanksgiving service is scheduled for Sunday, November 19, 2023, at St. Peter’s Basilica, Kumasi, at 10:00am. SOURCE: Kasatintin.com
