Barbaric! DR Congo referee Patrick Ngalamulume was brutally lynched and burnt alive by irate fans in Bukavu between the night of 5th and 6th May, 2025.
The mob accused him of theft, despite having no evidence.
Reports claim Ngalamulume, 36, was beaten mercilessly before being set on fire, with eyewitnesses describing the scene as ‘apocalyptic’.
Kasatintin.com gathered that the attack unfolded in full view of residents, as a growing crowd beat the referee before setting him on fire. No intervention came from the police or emergency services.
Sports officials, civic leaders, and citizens have strongly condemned the brutal killing of the Ngalamulume, well known as ‘Ngalas’.
The football community is also demanding swift action to bring the perpetrators to book.
Ngalamulume’s tragic death raises concerns about fans’ behaviour and safety for sports officials.
