Dr Frederick Mac-Palm, one of the persons accused of attempting to overthrow President Nana Akufo-Addo government in 2019 has died.
Local media say he collapsed in his house and was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Dr Mac-Palm, the owner of the Citadel Clinic and other eight persons have been standing treason trial since 2019.
The suspects, believed to be part of a group known as Take Action Ghana (TAG) were arrested for allegedly plotting to destabilise the country.
The group reportedly put together a plan to target some key installations including the Jubilee House, the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, the National Police Training School, 37 Military Hospital and Burma Camp.
Three members of the group were charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, namely, manufacturing of arms and ammunition, and the possession of explosives, firearms and ammunition without lawful authority.
