Economic policy analyst and a member of the NDC communication team, lawyer Beatrice Annan has chastised the Upper East Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu for trivializing the ’24 Hour Economy’ which has been proposed by the flagbearer of the opposition NDC,John Mahama.
Mahama has mentioned that, as part of his transformational agenda, he will introduce a ’24 Hour Economy’ to turnaround the economy of the Ghana if elected as president in 2024.
However, over the weekend, the Upper East Regional Minister suggested that Mahama’s ’24 Hour Economy’ is a bad idea, in that many people won’t have enough time to enjoy quality sex if such a policy is implemented.
Reacting to Stephen Yakubu’s comment, lawyer Beatrice Annan said Mahama has a good plan to restore confidence in the Ghanaian economy and create more job opportunities for the youth.
She claimed that the Regional Minister is on government payroll, gets perdiem and has a land cruiser so he can afford to think about sex and ‘objectify women’ but ‘young people of this country can not even have an erection because they don’t have jobs. And if you don’t have jobs you will not even be thinking about sex. Romance without money is like a bother so they shouldn’t reduce a deliberate policy to create jobs for the teeming unemployed young people’.
Lawyer Annan maintained that ‘This [24 Hour Economy] is a serious discussion that you need to be someone who understands the pain of having been unemployed. They should not sit in their land cruisers enjoying the leisures of government allowances and things and come and say they want sex. We want food; after food we can have sex’. Video below.
