Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has been flown to the USA today, Sunday February 14, 2021 for an emergency medical care.
Mr Ofori-Atta after recovering from COVID-19 in December 2020 ‘has had medical complications which doctors advise require further interventions not currently available in Ghana’, a statement from the Finance Ministry said.
He is expected back in Ghana in two weeks’ time.
In view of the latest development, Ken Ofori-Atta, who is the Minister-designate for Finance and expected to be vetted on Tuesday, 16th February, 22021 will appear before the Appointments Committee of Parliament at a new date.
‘The leadership of Parliament has been duly notified for a new date to be fixed upon his return’, the statement added.
