Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings is planning to go back to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The former first lady broke up with the NDC, a political party her late husband founded to form the National Democratic Party (NDP).
It seems Nana Konadu wants to return to the NDC.
Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, the Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle Constituency has appealed to the leadership of the NDC to be in touch with her repented mother in this regard.
Zanetor stated at the one year anniversary of her late dad on Friday, November 12, 2021 that NDC must win the 2024 elections but the mission can be accomplished by addressing the concerns of aggrieved party members.
She said ‘We cannot do it alone. It would take all of us. You don’t have to have a title or be an executive…’
‘… On this particular occasion, I’d say the thing that nobody wants to say: Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings is an integral part of this party. Let us do what we have to do to bring her back’.
Commenting on Zenator’s statement, a famous NDC page on Twitter, Mahama 2024@CitizenTechiman stated that;
‘Nana Konadu has missed the big family she had in NDC. She spoke through her daughter. I am not sure, Zenator would make that appeal, if her mother had not confided in her to say so. Personally, I will be happy to see her rejoin the NDC. That is her root’.
In his response, pollster Ben Ephson noted that the call by the Klottey Korle MP is right, however he expects Nana Konadu to drop her ego and freely walk back to NDC since no one sacked her from the party.
Ephson said ‘It’s unfortunate this has come at a time we’re commemorating the old man’s first anniversary. But I think that Nana Konadu walked out of the party on her own volition and if the late president couldn’t stop her, who else can bring her back.
She walked out on her own and if she decides to walk back into the party I don’t think that anybody will stop her. So rather she should have a tête-à-tête with her mother and ask the mother to eat a humble pie and come back’.
