A family of five have perished in an accident at Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region while returning from a watch night service Saturday dawn.
The incident involved a man and his wife and three children.
Reports said the family was crushed to death after the saloon car they were travelling in collided head-on with an articulator truck.
Witnesses claimed that they wrongly overtook a truck which caused the accident.
The front side of the family vehicle with registration number WR-28-48 got trapped under the truck for hours.
An emergency rescue team from the fire,police and ambulance service rushed in to remove the trapped bodies.
In a separate incident, four children have been burnt to death after their mother locked them up in a room and attended an all-night church prayer service.
The children aged 7, 8, 12 and 15 were burnt to death after a building they were sleeping in caught fire at night.
They were said to be sleeping alone at their residence at Fise, a town near Amasaman in the Greater Accra Region when the tragedy occurred.
Kasatintin.com gathered that the victims’ mother, identified as Prophetess Adelaide Nkrumah left them at home to attend an all night prayer service at her own church.
She attended the church service with her youngest child but returned to see her house in flames and all the four children gravely burnt beyond recognition.
Eye witnesses claimed the fire outbreak started at midnight and got very intense at the part of the building where the children were sleeping.
