A Volta River Aviation helicopter has made an emergency landing at Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region on Monday,August 11,2025.
The aircraft (Jet A-1) with registration number 9G-AFW was en route from Accra to Kumasi but the pilot was forced to land due to poor visibility caused by harsh weather conditions in the area.
Jet A-1 made a safe landing at Nkawkaw bypass in the Kwahu West Municipality of the Eastern Region on Monday morning. Both the pilot and crew members are safe.
The same helicopter was forced into an emergency landing in the Central Region on the same day the Ghana Armed Forces military helicopter crashed, killing 8 persons.
The pilot of Jet A-1 landed at the Presby school park in Ajumako Kokoben due to poor weather conditions.
