Members of the Ghana Drunkards Association have declared a one-week break from alcoholic beverages.
The association, made up of approximately 16.7 million members (mainly beverage consumers and bar owners) says their members are emotionally disturbed following excessive drinking orchestrated by the recurrence of shocking deaths that have hit the country in recent times, notably, the death of former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, Daddy Lumba, the helicopter crash involving top Ghanaian politicians among others.
The Drunkards Association has confirmed that, from 10th to 17th November, 2025 their members will stay away from alcoholic drinks.
This will help members to reflect, undergo health checks, and seek spiritual support after a rise in drinking linked to the recent bereavements, the President of the Ghana Drunkards Association, Moses Onyah (Alias Moses Drybone) stated in a press statement, a copy sighted by Kasatintin.com.
