There is confusion as to whether veteran Ghanaian musician Nana Kwame Ampadu is dead or not.
A grandson of Nana Ampadu confirmed in an interview on Hitz FM monitored by Kasatintin.com that the musician died at 6am on Tuesday, September 28, 2021.
He told Andy Dosty a whle ago that a family meeting was underway to decide on final funeral rites.
In less than 10minutes, one Anthony Kwabena Amoah Gyagadu claiming to be the son of the veteran musician also called into the studios of Hitz Fm saying the legendary musician was not dead.
Kwabena Amoah said Nana Kwame Ampadu,76 has been admitted at the hospital and was in a critical condition.
Nana Kwame is a brilliant lyricist. He is a native of Obo-Kwahu in the Eastern Region.
He formed the African Brothers band in 1963.
Some of his tracks are Ebi Ti Yie, Aku Sika, Kofi Nkrabea, Obiaa Ba Nnye, Woyoo Woyoo, Mother, Mentumi Ngyae Wo, Agartha, Aye Se Ye Do Wo, Obra, Drivers, Anibere Nnye, Oman Bo Adwo, Kwaata.
The musician has actually been sick for some time now.
Between Nana Kwame Ampadu’s son and grandson we don’t know which of them is telling the truth.
