Barbra Sasha Rukundo, who is the wife of top Ugandan pastor Isaac Kiwewesi has ran to court to seek divorce because he has denied her sex for many years and also stopped communicating with her and the children.
Barbra Rukundo told the Family Division of the country’s High Court in Makindye that she has suffered mental torture as a result of being sexually starved by her partner.
She is praying the court to dissolve her 15-year-old marriage with the Kansanga Miracle Centre senior pastor.
Barbra Rukundo claimed that her husband has deprived her and their children of love by investing all his time in his businesses over the last five years.
She is demanding 50% of Pastor Kiwewesi’s multi-million assets including seven motor vehicles, seven plots of land, shares in several companies, savings on bank accounts and a matrimonial home in Kansanga.
In addition, Barbra says she is entitled to a KSh 340,800 ($3,000) monthly child maintenance fee and wants joint custody of their three children aged 12, 11 and 7.
In a response, Pastor Kiwewesi has rubbished Barbra’s claims as contained in the lawsuit that he has denied her love, care and affection.
He has accused her of choosing to party with slay queens in the US citing videos in his custody as evidence.
According to the pastor, the licentious video got leaked online and tarnished his hard-won reputation.
Pastor Isaac Kiwewesi contends that all the properties his wife is demanding are for the church and not personal, thus not available for distribution.
