The Ghana Police Service have arrested one Bright Berchie who has been on the wanted list of the police for some time now.
The police announced the arrest of the 30-year-old man on Tuesday.
Police pursued Bright Berchie, believed to be a special aide to Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah, the head pastor of Glorious Word Power Ministries International after he was captured in a video ‘brandishing a weapon and issuing threats of death to police officers and other persons’.
They revealed that the suspect has been on the run for weeks but he has been captured.
‘A weapon has been retrieved from him for a ballistic examination to aid further investigations’, police statement sighted by Kasatintin.com said.
The suspect has been charged with offences of threats of death,offensive conduct and possession of a firearm without lawful authority.
Bright Berchie will soon be arraigned before the court as police continue with investigations into the case.
It will be recalled that Reverend Owusu Bempah was arrested together with three of his junior pastors on Sunday, September 12, 2021.
Owusu Bempah and repented fetish priestess Nana Agradaa have had series of confrontations lately.
The pastor was picked up by state security after he and a group of men stormed Nana Agradaa’s residence to ‘face’ her.
Prior to the incident, some junior pastors of Reverend Owusu Bempah were seen in a viral video brandishing guns and threatening to deal with Agradaa.
