A top police officer stationed at Nkanfoa in the Cape Coast Metropolis of the Central Region has allegedly freed a suspect in custody after having sex with her.
The suspect, Theresah Forson had been in custody for days, awaiting sentencing for an undisclosed offence.
According to reports, the police officer identified as Corporal Isaac Apomah slept with her in the female cells at about 2.00am on Saturday, September 25, when he was alone at post.
The officer after enjoying the dawn sexual interc0urse is claimed to have asked the suspect to run away from the cells to a place where she cannot be traced.
She however went home.
For fear of being charged for harbouring a fugitive, the family of Theresa sent her back to the police station.
The police officer has been arrested and currently assisting with investigations over the alleged misconduct.
