A shocking report from Smart DNA Nigeria has revealed that many Nigerian men are being duped into raising children that aren’t theirs!
According to the 2025 Annual DNA Testing Report, a whopping 25% of paternity tests conducted between July 2024 and June 2025 showed that the presumed fathers were not biologically related to the children in question.
Firstborn Sons Most Likely To Be Illegitimate
The report found that firstborn sons are more likely to have negative paternity test results, with a staggering 64% exclusion rate.
Men Seeking Truth,But Why?
The report also revealed that a significant majority (88.2%) of paternity tests were initiated by men, while only 11.8% were initiated by women. Are men finally waking up to the truth, or is something else at play?
Older Men More Likely To Question Paternity
The report found that older men, particularly those aged 41 and above, accounted for nearly half (45.5%) of all tests. Is this a sign of financial stability allowing men to seek truth, or a midlife crisis?
The ‘Japa’ Phenomenon and Immigration
The report also noted a surge in immigration-related DNA testing, driven by Nigeria’s escalating emigration wave. Are people seeking to verify paternity before leaving the country?
