Nearly 110,000 voters from 12 institutions cast their ballots today, December 1, ahead of the December 7 general election.
The voters, made up of security personnel, journalists, EC officials and others exercised their franchise before everyone else as they will be on special assignments on Monday.
The special voting exercise took place at 311 designated voting centres located in all the 275 constituencies from 7:00am to 5:00pm.
Electorates were warned beforehand that it is against the law to record oneself when voting.
Some voters threw caution to the win and video recorded themselves as well as took a snapshot of the ballot paper they had thumb printed their favourite presidential candidates and shared it on social media.
It is difficult to understand why people could not obey this simple electoral rule. But the harm has already been done.
It is evident from the images flying around on the polls that many of the electorates chose between Nana Akufo-Addo of the NPP and NDC’s John Dramani Mahama.
Yet still, the votes seem to have gone in favour of a particular presidential candidate.
Social media debate suggested that particular candidate will win the 2020 election.
Netizens have attempted to explain the reasons security officers and journalists voted in one direction and also what influenced EC officials and other voters on the other hand to vote in a certain during the Special Voting.
Every vote will be counted and declared by the Electoral Commission (EC) on December 7.
It is only the final poll results by the EC which will determine the fate of each presidential and parliamentary candidate.
