Police have arrested the driver of a commercial minibus (trotro) after he crashed his vehicle into a wall near the private residence of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in Nima, Accra.
The collision which occurred on Wednesday evening caused significant damage to the wall.
The exact cause of the crash is unknown but the driver is in police custody.
This is the second time such a troubling incident has happened at the former President’s home.
In May 2021, 46-year-old driver,Antaru Issaka was arrested and fined for damaging the fence wall at Akufo-Addo’s Nima residence.
According to the GNA , the 46-year-old man,also a mechanic hit his car against a telephone pole near Akufo-Addo’s house at about 3:30pm on Saturday, May 15, 2021.
He was fined GHC 960 or in default, serve an eight-week jail term after pleading guilty to his numerous charges including careless and inconsiderate driving, causing damage and driving without a licence.
Again, Issaka was charged for using a motor vehicle with an expired licence policy and the use of a motor vehicle with an expired roadworthy certificate.
