The one week observation for Christian Atsu is taking place in Accra today, Saturday, March 4, 2023.
Family of the deceased, government officials, international community, loved ones, members of the football fraternity and the general public are expected to gather this morning at the Adjiringanor Astro Turf to celebrate the life of Atsu, a former Black Stars winger.
The star footballer got buried under his home in Southern Turkey following a destructive earthquake on Monday, February 6, 2023. He was found dead on Saturday, January 18, 2023.
A family source revealed that Christian Atsu’s lovely European wife, Marie-Claire Rupio and two children will not attend the one week observation.
But there is an unnecessary rumour in town which alleges that the deceased player had a Ghanaian lady aside Marie-Claire with whom they have two children together.
Hence, people have expressed the view that Marie-Claire was probably stopped from visiting Ghana in order to avoid a clash with her rival.
As to whether this information is or false or not, let us all reflect on the good deeds of Christian Atsu and pray for a successful event to honour him.
