The final funeral rites for the late former President Jerry John Rawlings is underway in Accra.
Several dignitaries and members of the public have lined up to pay their last respect to Rawlings before the body is interred at the Military Cemetery on Wednesday.
A 52-year-old woman identified as Abigail Mautor has also attended the funeral service, claiming Rawlings is her biological father.
Old woman Abigail Mautor made a shocking disclosure and suggested that she’s the first daughter of Rawlings.
She even indicated her readiness to undergo a paternity test to confirm her claim.
Abigail Mautor is reported to have stated in an interview that she left the shores of Ghana some years ago to save her life after narrating her story to Grace Omaboe, popularly known as Maame Dokono.
According to her, it was Maame Dokono who gave her money to move out of the country in 2003.
‘Maame Dokono knows about this. In 2003, I paid a visit and told her about my story, but she told me if I don’t keep quiet about it I may die. So she gave me money and I left the country’, she said.
Abigail Mautor mentioned that her mother met Rawlings when he was under training in the military academy.
Although Rawlings’ family was aware of this relationship, he demanded to keep their affair secret.
This is the second time news of Rawlings’ alleged secret lovers and their children have been publicised by the media.
Rawlings is also reported to have had a secret affair with a certain Scotish-Ivorian woman named Nathalie Yamb and together they gave birth to a son on June 4, 1999.
Their son, Malik Stephane is in his early 20s.
Malik bears some resemblance to Rawlings but we can not confirm at this stage if indeed Jerry John Rawlings is his biological father.
Nathalie Yamb has however shared series of romantic post on social media to confirm her tight relationship with the late former President.
‘I can’t imagine my life without you’, the political activist said in a tribute to Rawlings.
