Listeners are finding it difficult to tune into Ghana’s biggest radio station Joy 99.7 FM ‘due to signal interference from another radio station, broadcasting on 99.5mhz’.
Management of Multimedia Joy FM are certainly not pleased with the situation. They have thus alerted the industry regulator, National Communications Authority (NCA) to take immediate action on the signal interference by the new Accra-based FM station, Asaase Radio.
‘The Authority has informed us it is working to resolve the issue’, a statement on myjoyonline.com said.
Asaase Radio launched its operation on June 14 this year. The station has been the talk of town after it flaunted photos of its plush studio online.
Some entertainment pundits predict Asaase Radio may just be an addition to the number of radio stations we have in the country, and it will be a miracle if it survives in the next 5years.
Joy FM has stood the test of time. It has operated for more than two decades. It remains the best English radio station in Ghana.
