Soldiers staged a coup in Niger this week, in the early hours of Wednesday,July 26.
The coup plotters captured President Mohamed Bazoum and announced that the constitution has been dissolved, all institutions suspended, and the country’s borders closed.
Mohamed Bazoum,64, was elected as Niger’s president two years ago.
