Actress turned TV presenter Nana Ama McBrown has reportedly been sacked from UTV.
McBrown made headlines over the weekend after UTV announced a new host for the channel’s most watched entertainment talk programme, United Showbiz.
Okay FM’s Drivetime host Abeiku Santana presented the TV show last Saturday. This has, in a way given credence to the rumour circulating in the public space that the former has been fired by Dr Osei Kwame Despite’s television station.
McBrown is believed to have lost her job over comments Bulldog made as a panelist on the previous episode of United Showbiz.
Bulldog suggested that President Nana Akufo-Addo may not finish his second term of office if he does not pay aggrieved customers whose funds have been locked up in gold dealership firm Menzgold.
Bulldog was later picked up by security forces for investigations on allegations of threatening the life of Ghana’s President.
The media house and McBrown received some backlash following the incident.
It is not too clear at this time if McBrown’s contract has been terminated by the media house or Abeiku Santana just sat in for her on Saturday.
Information suggests that McBrown has been quarantine at home as she allegedly came into contact with a colleague who recently died of coronavirus.
She indeed watched her own show from home. McBrown posted a video on her official Instagram page and explained the real issues behind her absence on the United Showbiz programme:
‘I am so happy watching my number 1 Entertainment show in Ghana. Your Empress is coming back soon and big ups to my brother @abeikusanta for that vibe’.
