Facebook has banned President Donald Trump from the platform ‘indefinitely’ after the media found him to have used the platform to incite the violence in the US capital this week.
The ban was announced on Wednesday for 24 hours.
However for some reasons , the ban has been exended because Tump’s ‘use of our platform to incite violent insurrection against a democratically elected government’, Facebook’s chief executive Mark Zuckerberg said on Thursday.
He did not mention specific date when the sanction will be over.
Zuckerberg wrote on his page;
‘We believe the risks of allowing the President to continue to use our service during this period are simply too great.
Therefore, we are extending the block we have placed on his Facebook and Instagram accounts indefinitely and for at least the next two weeks until the peaceful transition of power is complete’.
Trump has refused to concede defeat to Joe Biden after the 2010 election citing electoral fraud as his decision.
