Controversial Ghanaian Prophet, Emmanuel Badu Kobi has revealed that the banking crisis in the country has impacted negatively on the financial well-being of his church members.
‘Every nation goes down when you attack money’, Prophet Badu Kobi said in an interview on Accra-based Starr FM Wednesday evening.
The leader and General Overseer of the Glorious Waves Church International blamed President Akufo-Addo for messing up the lives of Ghanaians through the ‘so-called financial sector clean-up exercise’ conducted by the Bank of Ghana (BoG).
Facts about the Financial Sector Clean-up Exercise
According to iWatch Africa’s report, over 6000 people have directly lost their jobs through the clean-up exercise since 2017.
Additionally, ‘the clean-up exercise has resulted in the revocation of the licenses of 9 universal banks, 347 microfinance companies, 39 microcredit companies, 15 savings and loans companies, 8 finance house companies, and 2 non-bank institutions, costing tax payers in Ghana over GHc20 billion’, claimed iWatch Africa.
Prophet Badu Kobi’s greatest fear is that the people will not be able to pay their tithes if they are unemployed.
‘You never take minimum capital from 120 to 400 million [dollars]. Wrong, because your nation is not a big nation…You don’t collapse your banks, you don’t bring unemployment and say you are building a nation.’
He continued that ‘It is time for the nation to allow spiritual leadership to also speak. But they’ve made like we shouldn’t talk and that the natural things are working but the natural cannot make everything work completely. It’s natural-spiritual. The balance must be there.’
‘Badu Kobi is not a fearful man o. There is nothing I have not seen in life to be afraid of any human being born of a woman. I say the truth as it is.’
Tithing in the Bible
The Old Testament orders Christians to follow the law of tithing. Church members are required to give one-tenth of their income to the Lord through His Church. The funds are used to support the ministry and spread the gospel through all nations.
But leaders and founders of some ‘mushroom churches’ in Ghana often misuse the tithe and other contributions they receive from their poor members.
Some of the ‘n!gga pastors’ most often than not blow the cash on luxurious cars, w0men with nice bortos and on skin bleaching cream.
The controversy you missed
2019 is certainly not a good year for Prophet Badu Kobi. Reports suggests that the size of his congregation has decreased by half ever since he ‘t0uched’ Asante women as well as women from the Fante and Ewe tribe in his sermon.
The Prophet threw himself into a big tr0uble after he ‘warned’ his male congregants not to marry women from the Asante, Fante and Ewe tribe.
Prophet Badu Kobi gave a hundred reasons why it is not advisable to marry from such tribes in a viral that hit the internet a month ago.
