African churches in the US are no longer able to record high number of worshipers after the country’s President Donald Trump announced new immigration policy to crackdown on illegal migrants.
US media report that the immigration policy is in full force and ‘In the three weeks since President Donald Trump took office, Americans have witnessed a frenzy of arrests and deportations’, NBC News said.
Further reports indicate that some Africans, obviously on the wanted list of security forces have totally abandoned public gatherings and even stopped going to work for fear of being caught and sent back to their home country.
The situation has negatively affected church activities in the US. Churches which run with African congregation have been hard hit as most of the migrants are afraid to turn up for service these days.
Some African churches have already shutdown. The dire consequences of the crisis on the welfare of church workers in the US is apparent.
Helpless situation but they trust that God will see them through it.
