The health condition of Ghana’s Vice President has become a subject of discussion after the Presidency confirmed that Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, 73, suffered a sudden illness and had to be rushed to the University of Ghana Medical Centre for treatment.
The Presidency also revealed that Prof Opoku-Agyemang will seek further care abroad.
Some members of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has given government up to Friday to disclose details about the health condition of the Vice President. But this request appears to be a political game as the ruling government had demanded similar information in the past.

On Monday,March 31,2025, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene appealed to the Muslim community to remember the Vice President in their prayers during the Ramadan season.
Delivering a speech on behalf of President John Mahama at the Eid- ul-fitr commemoration in the region at the Central Mosque, Dr Amoakohene said:
‘As we celebrate Ramadan, H.E President Mahama requests your prayers for God’s strength. Chief Imam, Imams and head pastors, please remember our Vice President when praying; she’s undergoing medical treatment. Pray for her against any evil plot, any evil plot against her should be turned into good’.
Ghanaian prophet, Apostle Francis Amoako Attah, some months ago exposed some shocking stuff he alleges are being done spiritually to slow down President Mahama and his Vice Prof Opoku-Agyamang.
According to Apostle Amoako Atta, he saw in a vision that a giant demon had positioned itself at the entrance of the seat of government.
